Spurrier Leads Team In Prayer

It was great to see Coach Spurrier and the entire Gamecock football team kneel in prayer for a teammate on national television. Unfortunately, Carlos Thomas sustained a head/neck injury that looked to be serious. Coach Spurrier lead the team in prayer by Thomas' side as they strapped him to a bodyboard.

I wish there were more of this in sports today. It reminds us that even though we want to win, other things are more important.

Thanks for taking the time to show your faith in God on national television. ESPN took notice!

'COCKS WIN 16-15!!!

Well, I wasn't far off from my 17-14 prediction! Steve Spurrier OWNS Phil Fulmer and the Tennessee Volunteers! On a night when Peyton Manning's jersey was retired, Spurrier went into Neyland Stadium with less talent and flat out beat Tennessee.

The 'Ole Ball Coach said the following on the locker room show with Todd Ellis:

"Well, we beat Peyton 4 times when I was at Florida and once in the pros, so maybe I should carry him around with me all the time."

Being a life long Gamecock fan, this is a moment I have waited for a long time. We've been so close for the last several years against UT only to lose the game in the final 2 or 3 minutes. This is the kind of game that we needed to win in order to prove to the rest of the conference that Spurrier means business at South Carolina. No, we're not ready to compete for an SEC championship, but this win will go a long way getting the talent we need. This was an imprtant game. We stole this one and now we need only one more win in the next 3 ball games to be bowl eligible.

It will be interesting to see how this team responds after a big win, having to go and play a bad Arkansas team on the road. The best thing that can happen is for the 'cocks to blow them out of the water. If that happens, we could realistically finish with an 8-3 regular season record. Florida is beatable, and we all saw Clemson lose today because of Tommy Bowden's gutless decision to kick a field goal instead of going for a TD. Anyway, Clemson is CERTAINLY beatable.

Anyway, it's always good to beat Tennessee. Last time it happened was 1992, I think. Let's just hope that it's not that long before we beat them again.

Let me leave you with a rendition of Rocky Top that some friends of mine coined this week. If you're offended, I'm sorry. It is funny, though!

"Rocky Top you'll always be,

Spurrier's bitch to me!

Good 'ole Rocky Top wooooo,

where the girls stand up to pee,

where the girls stand up to pee!"

Walgreen's Gives $100,000 To Gay Games

Walgreens has given $100,000 to help sponsor the Gay Games in Chicago next year.Oddly enough, Walgreens says they agreed to sponsor the Gay Games under the guise of helping prevent AIDS. But the official Gay Games web site has the following promotional statement, which promotes the very type of activity Walgreens says they are trying to prevent.

"The Gay Games Social Committee is currently in the process of gathering together Chicago's best bars and clubs, and some of the biggest and best party promoters in the country to create a Social Schedule unlike anything you've ever seen. Chicago's LGBT scene is fierce no matter what time of year it is, but during that one week in July 2006, we are committed to making sure you have the time of your life."

The gift, made to placate homosexual activists, puts Walgreens in the very top Premium Category of sponsorship. To make their sponsorship appear to be a good thing publicly, they say they are providing AIDS education. If any group should be aware of the dangers of AIDS and how to prevent it, it should be homosexual activists. Billions of tax dollars have been spent to educate the public about AIDS.

Click here to see photos of the types of activities that go on during these games.

Boycott Walgreens and demand that they withdraw their support of this disgusting event!

South Carolina/Tennessee Preview

Well, this is going to be the first road game of the year that I have not attended in person. I refuse to subject myself to the inhuman behavior that surrounds Neyland Stadium and The University of Tennessee. I'll watch this one from the comfort of my couch. Driving to Knoxville and then having to sit in an 18" seat almost touching the sky with orange clad toothless rednecks sitting on top of you is not my idea of a good time.

With Gerald Riggs out of the Tennessee lineup, I think that my beloved Gamecocks have a legitimate chance to upset the average Volunteers. If we had Syvelle Newton in the lineup, I'd say we couldn't lose.

Here's a little bit of advice UT. Make sure you cover #4. Even if you do, he's probably still going to light you up like a Christmas tree.

Call me crazy, but I predict a 17-14 Gamecock victory!

Miers Withdraws from Supreme Court Consideration!

Harriet Miers has realized the uphill battle that her confirmation hearing was going to create, and has honorably withdrawn from consideration. Knowing that there was no eveidence out there for Senators (both Democrat and Republican) to judge here positions by, she realized that the fight that awaited was not in the best interests of the President or the country. Thank you Ms. Miers for stepping down. It was the right thing to do.

Now, finally, we can nominate a true conservative with a proven record. The Democrats will try to paint this as a defeat for both the President and the Republican party. While it may be a defeat for the President, it's hardly a defeat for the GOP. Although the Democrats will say that the party is on the verge of splitting, they know that we have never been more united. However, you'll never hear them say that.

This entire scenario proves that the right wing of the party has power and influence that reaches all the way to the Oval Office. Harriet Miers may have been a conservative, but the public record was not there to back it up. Therefore, the right wing of the party could not stomach putting her on the bench unproven. So, with that said, who do you think that the next nominee will be? I can assure you that it won't be another moderate or "stealth" candidate. It will be a definite conservative, if not an ultra right wing conservative.

Get ready Democrats. The right wingers are getting ready to stack the court, and there's not ONE THING that you can do about it!

Interesting Site!

This is an interesting site to explore - especially if you find yourself in the position of having to defend your RIGHT not to have to put up with the grotesque practice of homosexuality.

Go ahead, call me a homophobe, gay hater, etc. I don't care. I know I'm right when I say that gays and lesbians are unnatural. They are not born gay! It is a learned behavior!
